Kingston's municipal election is Monday, October 26, 2026. You can vote online, at an advance poll, or in person on election day.

The only election-day voting location for King's Town District voters.
Online voting
Here is how.
- Check that you're on the voters' list.
- Have your Voter Information Letter (VIL) ready.
You need it to vote online. It contains your voter registration number and the website address for online voting.
If you were on the list before September 15, 2026, you should have received one. If you register after September 15, you can get your VIL by email or from the Elections Office.
- Starting October 14, go to the voting website.
Use your computer, tablet or phone, and enter the required information.
- Complete the City's two-step verification.
It uses either email or text message.
- Make your selections and submit your ballot.
Vote for Mayor, your District Councillor and School Board Trustee, as applicable.
Students
You can vote in Kingston!
Your student address in Kingston counts — make your voice heard.
- 18 or older and a Canadian citizen?
- Living in Kingston while attending Queen's, St. Lawrence College or another school?
- You may be eligible to vote in Kingston and your home municipality.
- Check that you're on Kingston's voters' list.
- Vote online from October 14–26 using your Voter Information Letter.
